Guidelines
Wysteria Way magazine accepts:
All genres of creative writing
Visual art
Videos and recordings
Comedic essays (the dumber the better)
We only accept work from queer writers ranging grades 6-12.
We accept submissions on a rolling basis. Submission is free but we cannot pay for acceptances, as we are broke teens.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us at wysteria.way.mag@gmail.com if your piece has been accepted elsewhere. We do not accept previously published pieces.
Our response time is anywhere from 3 days to 1 month. Please be patient with us. If you have not heard back from us in over 2 months, please reach out to us at wysteria.way.mag@gmail.com.
All rights revert back to the artist once the piece is published. If you would like to submit your piece somewhere else, please credit us as the original home.
We DO NOT accept AI art. If you submit AI art, what are you even doing. Go find a hobby and get a life. We don't like you, you heathen, you moth-eaten toerag, you filthy piece of scrap metal. Our Wysteria will take over your rotted metal brain and we WILL rust you, Get out of my sight, you corporate eyeball licker. (However, AI used in a brainstorming process is acceptable- as long as the work you submit is entirely yours and original).

Submit 1-5 poems as a PDF or Word doc. Note that if you submit multiple pieces, we may publish only select ones. Please specify if your pieces are a series.
Please submit 1 short story, play, or essay, no greater than 5,000 words, as a PDF or Word document. If it's an essay, please cite your sources in MLA formatting. Thank youuu.

Please submit 1 recording as whatever. We are not knowledgeable in this field. Sorry :) However, if google sites won't insert the recording, we may ask you to submit it again as something different.

Movies/TV shows
Music
Please note that we will likely take a little longer to get back to you about your recommendation, as we must consume your media. We also only accept queer media. Media with one queer side character doesn’t count.
Please submit a pdf or word doc with the following information:
The name and creator(s) of the piece and the year it was released, as well as the age range, rating, and any trigger warnings
A short paragraph summarizing the media
Which platform it can be viewed on (if applicable)
If you want to recommend a song, you don’t have to attach anything. Just put the name of the song and the artist when prompted to put the piece name. We also won't include any information like your name or grade when we post the song.
